ReCord Break by Lovassy Grammar School Students for ECoC 2023 Success
A total of one hundred and eighty students pressed their palms dipped in colour paint to the large caption of #Veszprém2023 at the local Lovassy Secondary Grammar School, thus breaking the “Hungarian record for palm prints made at the same time and place by most participants”. The event was linked to Veszprém’s Cultural Capital of Europe bid.
The record was verified on site by István Sebestyén, chair of the Hungarian Records Committee, official registerer, who said 130 pairs of hands would have been enough to break the previous record. By participating in the record attempt, Lovassy School students supported Veszprém’s European Capital of Culture bid, also backed by Méz Rádió and Veszprém-Balaton 2023 Plc. The colourful prints decorate a giant #2023Veszprém caption.
Gyula Porga, mayor of Veszprém, who also participated in the event told the press: he is certain that after the decision on the European Capital of Culture bid has been made public, Veszprém’s community will be able to celebrate among feelings very similar to today’s happiness about the result.
